Curtains are one of the most versatile and essential pieces in any home. They can be used decoratively, or functionally, and the best result is always achieved with a balanced combination of both! We offer a wide variety of styles perfect for every need from soft linen panels, through to super functional double roller blinds, all the way up to bedroom block outs that ensure no light will get into your room when you want it shut out!

Another reason that Curtains are considered one of the most versatile window treatments, is that they can not only be used for winter insulation and summer shade, but also to define spaces. Take a look around any well decorated home or office space, and you'll see that curtains have been strategically placed and coordinated with their surroundings for maximum effect. In bedrooms, drapes shield sleepers from early morning sunlight while still providing privacy when pulled closed at night. The living room is another popular place where heavy fabrics create an airy ambience for movie watching parties with their cascading folds coming down over windows, like theatre lights dimming out stages after intermission has ended!

Curtains are a great way to add personality and class into your space. Heavier fabric curtains can help create an elegant, sophisticated look or block out light completely while silk fabrics evoke luxury with their fluid drape and soft texture. Sheer materials have become popular for adding dimension when you want something that is more contemporary but still has sophistication. In contrast, patterned fabrics with stripes, dots, or paisleys in colours such as reds, greens or blues can make the perfect statement depending on what style of interior design scheme you're going for!

Some of our more popular styles include:

Pleated Curtains

Pleated Curtains are the benchmark for elegance and sophistication. They are made in a variety of pleat styles and are gathered at the top hem to make the perfect curtain for most any room. The pinch-pleat style gathers fabric slightly down from the top hem and looks like it is pinched together to form is pleats. The tailored-pleat style gathers fabric from the very top of the curtain and then flows out into its curtain ripples. Goblet pleats form the shape of a drinking goblet at the top and are known for their sophisticated look, whereas box pleats form a flatter style pleat and are subtle yet stylish.

Eyelet Curtains

Eyelet curtains are a modern choice particularly suited to bedroom windows. Their rod is threaded through open eyelets or grommets that hold the panels at the top. These can then be slid back and forth to allow easy opening or closing, even with one hand. Very well suited for use in any room which receive a lot of traffic due to their need for frequent usage when it comes time either shut out light from outside, or let sunshine into your room.

Rod-pocket Curtains

Rod-pocket curtains are made of lightweight and sheer fabrics, which make them more casual in style. They are probably the most common and classic curtain design in which the curtain rod slides through a ‘pocket’ sewn into the back panel that conceals it from view. Their design causes drape panels hung this way to bunch nicely and evenly across the window frame.

Back Tab Curtains

Back tab curtains are a practical way to cover the windows in your home. They consist of wide tabs sewn into the back of the curtain, through which the rod slides. These tabs are not visible at the front of the curtain. Due to this they are easier to operate than rod pocket curtains, but provide much the same look. You will love how elegant this type of curtain looks without having to worry about any unsightly metal brackets or poles cluttering up your space!

Tab-top Curtains

Tab-top curtains are a clever way to add style and function in your home. They use a rod that slides through large visible loops or 'tabs' at the top of the curtain, making them a popular style for farmhouse and cottage homes where you want something more decorative but still functional. The tab-top style makes it particularly easy to loop around wall brackets or hooks because they don't have any hidden hardware on both sides like traditional curtains do which can be challenging when trying to hang from just one side!

Curtain Width is also a consideration when choosing the right solution. Single width curtains are ideal for larger windows as they are made from a single piece of fabric and can be drawn to the wall on either side to open them up. Double-width curtains come in two pieces of fabric, with each being drawn to opposite sides of the window. This allows you to give your living or bedroom space an elegant appearance while blocking light effectively so that natural sunlight doesn't wake you early at dawn! Whenever you are buying curtains, it's important to consider the fabric width. You will need at least two times the width of your window so that they hang and gather properly in front of the opening.

Curtain Length is also an important factor when choosing your curtains. The 3 main types of curtain length are:

  • Float – in which the curtains hang, or ‘float’ just above the floor, with no more than 3cm of space between the floor and bottom of the curtain
  • Kiss – in which the curtain just touch, or ‘kiss’ the floor, usually involving very precise measurement to ensure they are the correct length
  • Puddle – in which the bottom of the curtains touches the floor and gathers in a ‘puddle’ of fabric, usually used in more formal rooms with heavier curtain materials

With so many options for finishing touches, we know you will be able to find something that is perfect for your new curtains. We offer all of the hardware and accessories necessary to match your curtain choice, from rods and tension poles providing a finished look on any rod-pocket or tab top design; tassels or tie backs which can add dimension with dangling detail at either end; hooks which will give long term stability by securing fabric in place without damage; brackets where metal arms reach up to attach onto an upper rod pocket bar creating a subtle but attractive attachment point. We are also able to supply pelmets for new or existing curtains.
